Let’s be besties but first ....

Announcement 🗣 I’m almost 10 pounds heavier than I was one year ago. 

Does that make me fat • unhealthy • disgusting?  I used to think so.  • Does that sound familiar?

You wanna know what that makes me? • It makes me ten pounds heavier. • Period! • End of story.

Here’s what I know to be true. 

⭐️⭐️⭐️ You cannot hate yourself into a version of you that you’ll love. ⭐️⭐️⭐️ 

And yet we try, don’t we?

Imagine this! You & I just met. I’m excited to become your friend  but first I’m gonna need you to .......    ya still with me? 

[[ But first, ]] you are going to need to do something about those cottage cheese thighs.  I can’t bear to look at them. And all those nasty rolls on your stomach.  I can’t  concentrate on your words with them rolling around like that.

And those flabby arms... I.Just.Can’t...

When you fix all that, then we can be besties!  Sounds fun, right? 

It’s the same thing we do to ourselves, it just sounds different. 

▪️Once I get back to my pre-pregnancy weight, I'll be happy. 

▪️ I’ll go to the beach when I lose the weight.

▪️ When I’m skinny, I’ll take more family pictures.

The real bottom line is ....

Fit or skinny bodies are no better or worse than unfit bodies! They are not better people,  “more” together, and they are not happier either. 

#PardonMyPositivity, but I believe people of all shapes and sizes are worthy of respect & love, regardless of their weight. Don’t you agree? And that includes YOU to yourself too.

The love, support, & understanding that you give so freely to others.... give that to yourself too.   

Will I lose weight? Yes I will, BUT I WILL ALSO LOVE MYSELF DURING THE PROCESS.  What about you?  ☮️♥️ Darlene Turner
